Budget Triggers Exposed: for education are back for a second time in the new Budget Proposal from Governor Jerry Brown, and this year Mr. Brown seems to have created a process to further his own political agenda. Find out what we learned.

Weed Wacker: This week the City Council approved a new ordinance restricting the cultivation of medical marijuana. In a 3-2 decision, the board chose one of the toughest ordinances of any community. See how they made that decision.

The Grove Academy: Initial Findings by the School District Staff were not encouraging. We look at why the Board of Supervisors are taking their stand.

Here are some late breaking updates to today's stories that came out while we were in production.

Pulling the Triggers:
"Gov. Jerry Brown has signed compromise legislation that allows school districts to preserve transportation funding after parents and advocates complained about losing school bus services." These funds were a part of the automatic budget reductions mentioned in our story.

The Grove Academy:
"Backers of a new Elk Grove charter school are going back to the drawing board after what one major supporter called a "public shellacking" at Tuesday's Elk Grove Unified School District board meeting."
